Please use the form below to leave feedback about Lina’s Project, a message of support for survivors of child sexual abuse in the Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle, or to make a suggestion of how the diocese may take further steps towards healing in the community via other projects and/or events.
At the Lina's Project launch event in September 2017, Bishop Bill Wright committed the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle to:
consulting with survivors and the community to plan a permanent memorial in the grounds of Sacred Heart Cathedral;
marking 15 September as a perpetual day of remembrance and holding events each year on this day to acknowledge victims and survivors in order to work towards healing in the community;
working with schools, particularly sites of abuse, to plan memorials and events of acknowledgement.
If you have ideas or suggestions about a permanent memorial, events that might take place on September 15 or other ideas that you feel will contribute to healing within the community, please share these ideas via the feedback form below.
Please note, if you do choose to share your name and contact email below, you may be contacted by the Event Project Manager to discuss your suggestion and/or feedback. Once submitted, your message/suggestion may be shared with the community on your behalf by the Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle. All content shared will remain anonymous however.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Lina’s Project on 4979 1188.
